Stress is a bitch. It's something that everyone has no matter how easy your life is. So when you're pregnant (which is a stress in itself) and stressed about EVERYTHING else all I can think is "How bad is this for the baby?"
Well the scary truth is, really bad. I've been reading more about stress since I started having issues with it about 3 months ago and the more I learn the more I realize I could be doing some serious damage to my little Belly Bean. Studies show that the more stress the mother has the higher chances of health problems for the baby and even shows signs of high blood pressure later in life.
This is an interesting article:

So how to manage this stress. Well, I have no idea! I have a Midwife appointment this Wednesday and I'm hoping she can help me out. I'm sure I'll be writing about it in a later post cause one thing I found has help is writing it down:)

Baby's Room Light Fixture
Our baby's nursery light fixture was ugly.
Being that it was the original one in the house and we can't afford to replace it I thought I would give it a little love and see if I could make something cute out of it.
Of course, I wasn't able to get a picture of it before Phil started taking it down so I can't prove to you how bad it was but it looked like this one:
Words I would use to describe it: Gold, 80's, Wicker inlaced, Bad!
So we took the fan blades down and Phil sanded them so the paint would stick while I went to the store and got the spray paint.
I used ACE Premium "Antique White"
I laid them out and sprayed them with 3 layers. (Use as many as needed to cover your project) I think they turned out very well... the only problem is it didn't get rid of that ugly wicker stuff so I came up with glueing fabric over it.
I had this fabric lying around from our wedding (which added a special meaning) and it had the right colors for the baby's room!
(everything I used to make the blades)
I then drew the outline on the fabric and cut around it about 1/2 inch
Using a glue gun, I folded the edges and secured the fabric to the blade
These are the finish blades! Just needs to be put back on the light fixture.
Better than before:)

Fleece Blankets
These are really easy to make:)
1. Get at lest one yard of patterned fleece (I used two yards)
and get the same amount of fleece in a matching color.
2. Cut a 4 by 4 piece out of each of the corners (To make sure your blanket stays square)
3. Along all four sides cut 4 inch deep strips about 1 inch across.
4.Tie every other strip of the two fabrics together
5. Then flip the blanket over and tie the other strip of the two fabrics together
(You flip it over so the blanket doesn't get misshaped as you tie)
And it's that easy! I made these for Christmas gifts and they were a really easy and fun $10-$15 dollar gift.

To catch you up
Intro
To be honest I never was into or really understood blogs. I knew it was something that almost all my friends were doing but I've never been the type to just go along with what everyone else was doing. So I have stayed away from the "world" of blogs for my last 24 years.
My thought was "What do I have to write about that anyone would care to read?" Sure it's fun to read friends post on Facebook and what not but a whole Blog about just me? Boring!
Up until seven months ago when a little white stick told me I was going to be a mother.
First I was shocked. Sure we had been trying to conceive a "spawn" but I never thought it was going to happen that fast (the first month we tried). But then like every other woman in my position I starting thinking about everything I needed to do and how much this baby was going to change my life. Which scared the living hell out of me!
Was I going to become one of those people that eat, sleep, walk, talk baby? I made a promise to myself and my husband, I would not.
Being the first of my close friends to step into the world of motherhood I might be taking this "don't become a soccer mom" thing too far but I really don't want to loose who I am. There are woman who do it and I have every intention to become one of those women.
I invite all creative women to read my blog. Whether you are a mom or not.
